Alliance Music Therapy welcomed Grace to the team in February 2020.  Originally from Shueyville, Iowa, Grace graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Therapy from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She completed her clinical internship at Children's Minnesota in the Twin Cities, one of the largest freestanding pediatric health systems in the United States.  During her clinical training, Grace had the opportunity to provide music therapy services to patients of varying ages, needs, and diagnoses.

Grace was drawn to the profession of music therapy during her high school days, where she was
able to observe and participate while a family member received music therapy services.  This
experience sparked her appreciation for the benefits music therapy can have on individuals and the moments of connection a music therapist can provide.  Grace finds making meaningful moments
through music with her clients and their families to be exceptionally rewarding.
 
From singing duets with her grandmother and performing at family events, to being part of music
ensembles like show choir, music has always been an active part of Grace’s life.  For Grace,
music is a powerful source of expression and connection.  Her primary instrument is voice/vocal
performance, but she also enjoys playing guitar, ukulele, and piano.  In her free time, Grace enjoys crafting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  She also finds joy in trying new restaurants around the Twin Cities.
