Reggie         Cesarz

Board-Certified Music Therapist

Independent Contractor

MMT, MT-BC

she/her/hers

By following her personal motto, “Be here now”, Reggie is able to translate this to her  approach in her sessions.  Staying present allows her to check in with herself, check in with clients, and be as authentic as she can within each therapy session she leads.

Reggie Cesarz joined the Alliance Music Therapy team in July 2024 as part of our contracting team to further our team's reach across the Twin Cities Metro.  She spent four years working for Coast Music
Therapy in San Diego, CA and worked with students ages 3-22 in the San Diego unified and
surrounding school districts.  Prior to working in private practice, Reggie interned at The Center for Discovery in New York with a heavy emphasis on Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy techniques, specifically piano improvisation.  She has her Master of
Music Therapy (MMT) from Augsburg University.  Additionally, her education background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Saxophone Performance with a Minor in Music Education from Luther College, and she has a chapter in Clinical Decision-Making in Music Therapy: Case Studies by Annie Heiderscheit and Nancy Jackson.

Reggie has always been involved in music.  From private piano lessons to cello in orchestra and tenor sax in band to youth choir to musicals.  She knew that she wanted to work with people when she was asked in middle school to volunteer in the adapted PE class.  "It was so inspiring to meet peers that required adaptable means, and it was an honor to be able to work with them during their class."  Her first Music Therapy experience was being a part of sessions with her grandmother while she was in hospice.  From there, she had the opportunity to volunteer at a day camp for students with disabilities.  She knew from that moment that Music Therapy was the career she wanted to pursue.

Reggie's instrument of choice or that stands out the most to her would be piano, guitar, and saxophone.  Piano is her favorite to play for fun and in therapy sessions.

Outside of work, Reggie enjoys working out, hiking, weekly trivia with friends, trying new food, and great conversation with people she loves.  She's obsessed with the Olympics and all sports, all competitions.  You name it, she's watching it! (and likely getting overly invested and nervous cheering for people/teams).

Reggie is so kind, caring, and listens so well. Her love for music and kids shines through.
